Whilst staying here in Ubud, Bali we took the opportunity to see some of the Bali culture at Lotus Pond, where we saw a dance and music performance by Chandra Wirabhuana. The contrast to any form of western music is immense, with an orchestra of about 20 players on instruments which looked very xylophonish. The dancers had more emphasis on smaller, more subtle movements with unbelievable eye contact with their audience, which was fascinating. All outdoors of course!! I was lucky enough to get a front seat.
